Payne gas furnaces are highly rated, efficient heating systems.An innovative feature of the Payne PG8D gas furnace is built-in diagnostics, designed to assist with the identification and correction of faults. The furnace utilizes an LED, to describe its condition.This can be viewed through a port on the blower access panel.You can take corrective action in response to any faults indicated by the LED.

Mute the speaker Listen to this using a male or female voice M/F Steady Burning LED indicates normal furnace operation.The number of short flashes of the LED represents the first digit of the two digit fault code. The number of long flashes of the LED represents the second digit of the fault code.

Mute the speaker Listen to this using a male or female voice M/F Fault Code 12 indicates a power interruption on the furnace powered up during a call for heat. If this code is present, verify that the blower runs for ninety seconds before the furnace starts a normal heating cycle.

Mute the speaker Listen to this using a male or female voice M/F Fault Codes 13 or 33 indicate a limit switch lockout. The air filter may be dirty, or the air return or supply grilles may be blocked.

The manual gas supply shutoff valve must be in the open position, and the control switch on the gas valve must be on.
